If the Group and Management believes that the share price is way below intrinsic value, why no SBB initiative in an aggressive manner ? A lot of retailers are still waiting to cut loss at higher level before the next QR announcement :-|
That’s because there is a specific Press Release and guidance by the Company on 6 August relating to initiative to share buy back. Retailers that bought in ~ 25 Sen will be in loss position now. More importantly, will the Company be willing to cancel the treasury shares after SBB or treat them as “trading shares”.
Accumulated short selling position in the Company really minimal (ie. 2.2m only as at 17/8/26) based on Bursa Malaysia - Short Selling details. “Trapped” retailers at high price level are the ones trying to exit at varying share price level.
Exactly. In that case, SBB should be aggressively initiated until 50 Sen since Management is confident that the intrinsic value (73 Sen) is much higher. Otherwise, it makes a mockery of the Press Release and SBB initiative.
