KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 3): MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd said its chief financial officer Dr Mazatul 'Aini Shahar Abdul Malek Shahar is on garden leave from Oct 20 to Dec 15, or until further notice from the board.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Friday, the sugar refinery company said her temporary leave of absence is necessary to facilitate an ongoing internal investigation.

The group will continue its business operations as usual, it added.

MSM said further announcements shall be made in the event of material developments on this matter.

Mazatul 'Aini was appointed as MSM's CFO on Dec 1, 2022.

Prior to holding the CFO position at MSM, Mazatul 'Aini was an independent non-executive director at 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd and TH Heavy Engineering Bhd, and an audit committee member of both companies.

Currently, she is an independent non-executive director of IJN Holdings Sdn Bhd, according to the group's website.

At the midday break on Friday, MSM shares were two sen or 1.59% higher at RM1.28, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM899.81 million.
