In his early career, Mr Yap Shuh Jian gained experience in the corporate restructuring of a couple of private groups of companies, namely YKC Group of Companies and YLC Group of Companies, which were involved in the manufacturing and marketing of building materials as well as real estate investment.

He then ventured into property development and construction through his Eliteland Development Group of Companies, and successfully completed various development projects in Perak, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

In recent years, he was involved in the construction of a mega mixed development project as the structural contractor for EkoCheras, as well as a few parcels of highway construction on DUKE 2 (part of SDL and TRL), including the Manjalara Interchange and Segambut Toll Plaza, and on Section 1 and parts of Sections 3 and 4 of the Setiawangsaantai Expressway (SPE).

His other involvements include the robotics and UV-C LED disinfection system industry as well as the electric vehicle (EV) industry, as a solution provider during the recent Covid-19 pandemic and amid the race in the EV industry.

He was also the Chief Executive Officer of NWP Holdings Berhad (now known as Auro Holdings Berhad), a company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, from November 2021 to June 2022.
