With reference to the article published in The Edge Malaysia titled "GTA Holdings, en route to ACE Market, puts Middle East expansion on hold" dated 19 August 2026 (the "Article"), in which certain remarks by Dato' Nonee Ashirin binti Dato' Mohd Radzi, the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of GTA Holdings Berhad ("Dato' Nonee"), were reported. On behalf of the Board of Directors of GTA Holdings Berhad, Hong Leong Investment Bank Berhad wishes to provide the following clarifications:
1. Expansion of helicopter MRO activities in the Middle East
The Group's proposed expansion into the Middle East has not been abandoned. In stating that the plans have been "put on hold", what was meant is that the Group is presently assessing the situation in the region and awaiting the appropriate time to proceed. The Group has up to 24 months to utilise the relevant proceeds allocated for this purpose.
While Dato' Nonee visited the Middle East in February 2026, we wish to clarify that the visit was preliminary and exploratory in nature, and that no formal commercial discussions have been entered into by the Group.
2. Expansion into the provision of MRO services in Brunei Darussalam
The further announcement referred to by Dato' Nonee, expected in the coming days, relates to the distribution agreement with Safran HE. This distribution agreement is one of several agreements to be entered into to formalise the memorandum of understanding previously executed in July 2026.
The commencement of the intended operations remains subject to, among others, the conclusion of the approval process of the reciprocal agreement with Safran HE, which the Group continues to target by the end of 2026.
This announcement is dated 21 August 2026.
